Senior Designer – Epson, Long Beach, CA

Epson is seeking a well-rounded, senior-level designer to join our growing in-house ad agency. The ideal candidate for this role is an exceptional designer who helps set and maintain the agency's creative standards across all mediums and platforms. Reporting to the Assistant Manager of Creative Services, the Senior Graphic Designer demonstrates expertise in all things design, typography and layout to big-picture concepting and pitching. An effective presenter and team player, the Senior Graphic Designer is able to handle client feedback in a professional manner and translate it into creative that elevates the company portfolio. Working alongside our writing team, this person will explore, refine, sell and produce digital and print creative while upholding agency and client guidelines.  

  • As an integral member of the Creative Services Team, the Senior Graphic Designer will provide mentorship to our growing design team and work closely with creative management, copy editors, traffic, account management and production to produce industry-leading work.

Main Responsibilities 

  • Applies conceptual thinking and creativity to complex design problems from conception to production 

  • Proactively researches and pursues ideas to better understand and communicate to Epson’s customers and markets 

  • Applies craftsmanship, artistry and storytelling to strategic insights and analytics 

  • Presents innovative creative concepts for client approval  

  • Helps develop style standards on fonts, colors and images 

  • Assists in photo shoots and directs photo retouching 

  • Creates decks for creative pitches 

  • Mentors team members 

  • Stays up-to-date on new multimedia, production, print, digital and general creative technologies 

  • Ensures a consistent brand design across all forms of media and communications 

  • Creates cohesive assets that promote our brand voice in innovative ways  

  • Demonstrates excellent presentation skills 

  • Develops integrated campaigns including digital, print and multi-media materials for a variety of clients. Candidate should be able to demonstrate strategic, integrated campaign ideation and flawless execution. Balancing quality and speed are extremely important. Teamwork and creative leadership a must. 

  • Organizes multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and turns projects around quickly to meet tight deadlines  

Qualifications 

  • Five or more years of related work experience 

  • Portfolio includes award-winning work and demonstrates exceptional and highly creative graphic design 

  • Experience with press checks and a solid understanding of photography, illustration, typography, editing, transfer and shooting of commercials preferred 

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign  

  • Agency experience preferred 

  • Must submit a portfolio of work 

  • Experience in creating graphics for different social media platforms 

  • Extraordinary attention to detail and the ability to produce error-free work  

  • Ability to anticipate and stay abreast of graphic design trends 

Education  

Completion of an undergraduate program or equivalent experience (B.A., B.F.A. or B.S.).
