Ask the job artist
Dear JobArtist,
I have a grumpy boss. I know this sounds silly, but day in and day out the grumblings the thoughts, and the words of my boss are all just bringing me down. I can’t imagine it’s impacting anyone else differently and while I want to say something I can’t! It’s my boss. I don’t think it will be received well. What do I do?

Hey Job Artist,
We're currently debating over the format to use for the launch of our new industry magazine. Were torn between digital publishing, print publishing, or article/blog style publishing.
Help!
Dear JobArtist,
I’m in my final semester at the university, getting a BA in Communication with a minor in Graphic Design. I’m starting to explore the options for my next step; full-time job, maybe a master’s degree, and most preferably a job with an employer that is willing to pay for (or at least contribute to) my master’s. During the research for my next options, I came upon a master’s degree in Technical Communication with a concentration in Usability/User Experience from Northeastern University. Is it worth investing $33,000 in this degree? After all, the UX field is so young and still neglected by many. I’m afraid I might not make it in the field even with a master’s degree. Also, if I decide to do it, does it make sense to start a master’s degree right after bachelor’s? Or should I first spend a couple of years working in the field?
Dear JobArtist,
I am wondering the best way to transition out of not so great first job! I am a fresh college grad, and have been at my company for 4 months. I love my co workers and it have learned a lot at my company. Unfortunately, it was not in the industry I wanted to be in but I needed a job after college! Many people have told me to get out of the Healthcare industry because I will be type cast as a healthcare designer, and I don’t want that! I have also been kept at the office till at least 10 or 11pm most nights for the past 2 months! I am looking for advice on how to get out and finding something in a more creative industry!
Thank you

Dear JobArtist,
I have to do an interview over Skype and I'm nervous that my personality and presentation is going to be limited. What can I do to prepare and even better, how do I ease my nerves before and during the interview?
Needing the calm,
Namasteinbed
Dear JobArtist,
I recently applied for a job and I have the point of contact from my interview. Is it still a thing to send our a personal thank-you card or is this completely outdated and unnecessary? I've already followed up with an email and I don't want to come across as desperate. What should I do?
Sincerely,
Thanks I think
Dear Job Artist,
I’m graduating in May, and while my senior year has already been ruined by COVID-19, I’m in full panic. I’ve applied to every job imaginable, and most places have put a hold on hiring until the crisis subsides.
Do you have any tips and tricks during this unsettling time? I know you post jobs daily, but I’m hoping to stay close to home. Also, if you don’t have much advice to give on that topic, do you have any advice for freelance work until the industry gets back to normal?
Sincerely,
Terrified College Senior
