Media Planners are the architects that shape and execute effective advertising campaigns. Your responsibility will be to identify and reach target audiences, as well as evaluate the success of the campaign.

To succeed in this role, you should be a skilled communicator and decision-maker who can collaborate well with various teams. Knowledge of market research and a willingness to follow media trends are essential.

Day to Day

As a Media Planner, you will work closely with the Consumer Communications (C2) Department in developing and implementing Media Plans that deliver against key performance metrics. Your goal will be to optimize media campaigns to increase brand awareness and help achieve business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze market data

  • Provide Media POVs on request including relevant rationale

  • Identify target audiences and understand their behavior and habits

  • Determine the best media outlet mix for our campaigns

  • Optimize ad campaigns according to geographic exposure, frequency, time spans and more

  • Allocate budgets and monitor costs

  • Evaluate the success of media strategies and campaigns

  • Responsible for coaching, guidance, inspirational leadership and performance management of all direct reports (if applicable)

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 1-2 years previous experience in media campaign planning or buying

  • Proficiency in digital media planning including display, mobile, video, programmatic

  • Understand media fundamental and basic planning principles and planning process

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Working knowledge of media research tools (MRI, Nielsen, ComScore, Simmons, etc.) and ability to analyze syndicated research

  • Fluent in digital technologies such as but limited to: Doubleclick Campaign Manager, Integral Ad Science, Oracle Blue Kai, DSPs, etc.

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
