Join our team as an Exhibit Graphic Designer and create exemplary museum exhibit experiences by using the appropriate tools, both digital and physical. Also engage in active collaboration with project teams, managers, external project partners, and advisors. 

Job Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Participate in project team meetings to lead discussions on exhibits, offering creative ideas, time estimates, and design suggestions for exhibit experiences. 
• Prepare and present to project teams and clients preliminary sketches, including detailed templates and style sheets, graphic layouts, and print material and substrate specifications. 
• Create 2D assets for exhibits; including but not limited to environmental graphics, exhibit labels, illustrative elements, and digital assets as needed; using industry standard graphic design software applications such as the Adobe Creative Suite. Familiarity with 3D software applications and 3D physical modeling desired, but not required. 
• Collaborate with the design team and exhibit & graphics production staff to ensure that designs are meeting project goals; including financial, learning, and creative goals. 
• Evaluate the feasibility of graphic design ideas, based on factors such as appearance, function, serviceability, budget, ADA requirements and production costs/methods. 
• Manage digital assets across multiple projects using file structures, version control systems, databases, and cloud-based storage systems. 
• Advocate for universal accessibility in the design of exhibit experiences. This includes the creation of multiple language exhibit graphics. 
• Understand and prioritize work, with that of team members, workgroups, advisors, and contractors to ensure that the workflow is efficient and in line with the project's goals and within the scope of the project team. 
• Apply and adapt new techniques and trends to create innovative exhibit experiences. 
• Hold and promote the value that the visitor is the ultimate client for the work of the project team. 
• Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

• No formal education necessary. 
• Demonstrable knowledge of industry standard technologies and techniques. 
• Demonstrated technical proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Curiosity towards the scientific endeavor desired. 
• Cultural competency and experience working with diverse communities. 
• Willingness to be open and respectful of all backgrounds. 
• Fluency in language(s) other than English valued (Hmong, Somali, Spanish).

Starting rate: $42,000+ annually / Depending on Qualifications.
