Graphic Designer – Tesla, Hawthorne, CA

The Role

The Tesla Design team is looking for an outstanding Visual Designer for our Content Creation Team. The Content Designer will be responsible for researching, designing, innovating, and delivering design solutions for both print and web. Deliverables will encompass digital, retail/environmental, social, merchandise, and print. The candidate will collaborate with Copywriters, Program Managers, Photographers, Videographers, and other Design Teams at Tesla

Candidates should possess exceptional design skills, a great sense of aesthetics, and must have an affinity for minimal design, typography, and attention to the smallest of details. A strong ability to distill complex problems into simple, elegant solutions is key to success at Tesla. We are a fast-paced company with an entrepreneurial spirit, so the majority of the work will be focused on innovating original and creative content and application, as well as final deliverables and solutions that work in the real world.

Responsibilities

• Apply comprehensive awareness of design and technology trends and best practices to bring concepts to life through creating compelling visuals. • Maintain an understanding of the entire sales, marketing, and product design processes. • Support Sales, Marketing, and Product Teams by creating and maintaining design assets ranging from print, environmental, video, digital, presentations, and more. • Address creative request workflow by partnering with team members to prioritize incoming projects, route assets across various departments for approvals, and keep projects with competing deadlines on a strict timeline. • React to ongoing needs of the company across all departments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Communication Design, Web Design or evidence of exceptional ability. • An excellent portfolio showcasing visual design work with a strong graphic design sensibility. • 4-5+ years’ work experience creating world-class visual for both print and web. • Ability to communicate design concept ideas in situation. • Must be proficient and highly skilled in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Microsoft Office programs, Keynote, and other design tools. • Ability to perform in a fast paced, high stress design process under minimal supervision. • Self-motivated, able to work independently but also collaborative and driven by group critique. • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and ability to present work to executives and large groups
