Job Mission: 

New Balance is a brand that values independent thinking.  We pride ourselves on ‘not following the herd’ and zigging when our competition is zagging.  We also value resourcefulness and scrappiness.  As a graphic designer, you’ll be responsible for the development and execution of creative concepts, mechanicals and production files to support Global Marketing Department initiatives and product launches.  Projects will cover a wide spectrum, ranging from advertising campaigns to company branding, promotional events, as well as all other marketing materials to support current and future projects.

Your focus and expertise will be on speaking to consumers through retail and digital elements, with some experience designing windows, Point of Sale materials, in-store communications and shop in shops. Digital experience and how digital can enhance the retail experience a MUST.  Wholesale account deliverables and design development for Flagship store rollouts and evolution of our retail flagship spaces will also be on your list of accountabilities. Having a passion for, or previous experience in the sports, running, lifestyle, fashion industry desired. You understand the language of the performance consumer and how to reach them visually.  

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Work with a team of in-house designers to develop creative materials from concept to final artwork.

  • Support New Balance and our mission to keep innovating and pushing the market into the future of sport.

  • Build strong communication with the marketing team to effectively manage their creative projects.

  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously to realize the teams creative marketing goals.

  • Maintain healthy cross-functional relationships and build relationships outside of immediate team.

  • Comfortable doing production work, as well as knowledge of printing specs and materials.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS

  • Highly creative with very strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite – Indd, Photoshop, Illustrator

  • B.A. in Graphic Design.

  • 2-4 years relevant work experience in design, campaign conception and execution.

  • Connection to sport and sport style trends

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and timelines

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Create graphics that are Industry leading, trend right and that consistently incorporateconsumer/athlete insights through powerful storytelling, emotional connectivity

  • Understands and presents design concepts; produces presentation materials in conjunction with design and consumer teams that effectively communicate the concept behind the products for internal and external audiences

  • Creativity: Proven conceptual ability to create smart, strategic creative campaigns that work in the Direct-to-consumer space.

  • Partners with lead designers & copywriter and works with both to ensure ideas are on strategy.  Delivers every idea and assignment with creativity and passion. Ability to translate marketing needs into unique, brand-right, consumer focused designs.

  • Communication: Open communication with supervisor to share progress of work and takes constructive criticism well.

  • Time management: Manages time wisely across jobs, meets agreed upon deadlines and is accountable and responsible for their work.  Posts regular updates / works within our internal Project Management System to keep clients and the Creative Operations team regularly updated

  • Collaborates with Global Creative Studio team mates to develop cohesive solutions that can be translated through all mediums.
