The Graphic Designer processes and creates digital and hand-rendered graphic images and video for output to film, hard copy, multi-image or large format media. The incumbent oversees the printing of produced materials to multiple internal and external output services. Moreover, this employee maintains the inventory of expandable materials while also monitoring industry trends.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Designs engaging and responsive creative solutions to meet business development and marketing needs through the development of digital and print advertisements, catalogs, brochures, landing pages, and email banners and templates, presentations, logos, web, and social media assets.
Works with a wide range of media and uses graphic design software and coding.
Thinks creatively and develops new design concepts, graphics, and layouts.
Prepares rough drafts and presents creative ideas.
Monitor projects through the production process, including concept, production, quality control, and distribution.
Responsible for designs aligned with business strategy and program messaging while ensuring brand consistency across all channels.
Adheres to deadlines and manages time constraints across all design projects.
Follows and applies trends and integrates the latest technology advances into deliverables.
Captures photos, and re-touches/edits photos as needed
Captures video and performs editing. Converts video to digital format and produces video clips to be used in different publications or presentations.
Amends final designs for comments and obtains final approval.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field required.
Certification and Licensing:
Not Applicable
Experience:
Minimum one year of relevant experience, experience working in a sales or marketing department preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:
• Must have expert level proficiency of Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign.
• Must be at expert level production, including preparing files for print and packaging design
• Solid understanding of digital printing processes
• Video editing skills using Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro preferred
• Knowledge of photography, illustration, typography and digital formats preferred
• Knowledge of prepping and releasing banner ads, website pages, and email campaigns
• Working knowledge of CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript preferred
• Solid design skills in print, web/digital, multi-page collateral, multi-media, and video
• Superior design skills and a robust portfolio that includes marketing and sales materials
• Ability to listen, visualize, and apply ideas and trends into creative solutions
• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
• Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure
• Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships
• Ability to understand and follow instructions
Salary: $48,000-$51,000
