Sock Designer
The Sock Designer will elevate the Lululemon product by creating unique and original designs and artworks for the footwear category with a focus on socks. We strive to solve the needs of our Guest living into the sweatlife. Our team will drive excellence in product feel, function and aesthetic.

Leading
• The sock designer will create technical designs and artworks for Mens and Womens socks.
• Build inspirational concept boards to convey the seasonal sock concept direction.
• Maintain seasonal color documents and communicate to development
• Presents and communicates work clearly and confidently in seasonal meetings and reviews.
• The designer has a passion for style and function, is aware and ahead of trends and has knowledge of the market we play in.
• Design solutions for lululemon guests and ambassadors living the sweatlife in the Footwear COE

• Manage multiple product track development projects at various stages through design, development and start of production.
• Responsible for the technical knit design of assigned styles to on-time and 100% ready for commercialization.
• Translate graphic/print/pattern from lululemon creative team into technical designs that can be applied to Socks.
• Manage all Design resources internally, externally, and cross functionally to achieve desired outcomes of sock category

Partner
• Ability to work with lululemon ambassadors in focus groups and design solutions for unmet needs.
• Internal Concept team and external contractors to ensure Concept art is translated into technical files for each style development
• Manage the Concept Creation Calendar
• Work with Global Creative teams to confirm seasonal briefs are complete for each style.
• Regular check ins with Footwear/Apparel/Accessories merch and design teams to ensure alignment with product initiatives and seasonal creative direction.

Technical
• Ability to create technical vendor files for Jacquards, Textures, Print and Pattern
• Strong knowledge of Yarns, Textile, Knit and Performance products.
• Execute design intent and consistency through clear analysis, documentation, communication with Global Merchandising and Concept team.
• Critique, adjust and evaluate design concepts and prototypes from a performance, manufacturing, and functional perspective, extend expertise to problem solve
• Research trends, silhouette, style, and emerging technologies for technical Knits.
• Organize and prioritize daily workload of assigned product to maintain production calendar
• Travel onsite to work with manufacturers and suppliers on current and future development projects
• Attend Seasonal GTM meetings at Vancouver SSC

Experience + Requirements
• 4+ Years performance apparel, knit or textile design experience
• MA, BA, BFA, BS or equivalent in Apparel/Fashion/Textile design or similar
• Must be advanced in Adobe Creative Suite and Illustrator
• Solid presentation skills
• Experienced in different knitting techniques, flat/circular knit machines, yarns and garment construction
• Acknowledges the presence of choice in every moment and takes personal responsibility for their life.
• Possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and continuously innovates to achieve great results.
• Experience in building technical packages.
• Visible Independent, critical thinking, as well as strong attention to detail
• Driven by technical aspects of design process
